Cameras and support

Universal Live is a NYC Based company involved in many styles of video capture and has the equipment to accommodate! Our main cinematic workhorse are Sony PXW-FX9s featuring a full frame 6k sensor with 4k records and can outfit multicam projects with FX9s, FX6s, and FX3s! We have a variety of cine zoom lens options(Fuji Cabrio 19-90, Canon CN-E 25-250), gimbals stabilizers, and Sony GM lenses available! When it comes to live events, we have a fleet of Sony PMW300s. Our PMW300 cameras can be paired with 1/2” or 2/3” broadcast lenses to get the glorious wide angle look on a jib or capture far away subjects (over 100’ away). For support we have a number of broadcast sized Vinten Vision 250, Vision 100, and Sachtler V18 tripod heads, motorized Rhino Sliders, gimbals, Dana Dolly (3’ and 6’ rails), and (3) NYC Spider Support Systems Spider Pods.

Camera jibs and aerial Videography

Universal Live is lucky enough to offer two full Jimmy Jib rigs for the NYC and NJ areas! These include a 30’ Jimmy Jib Triangle Extreme and an 18’ Jimmy Jib Lite. The Triangle will support cameras up to 50lbs and the LITE supports up to 20lbs. They are complete with zoom, focus, and iris controls for a variety of cameras, off road dolly wheels, rain covers, field power, and full crew.

We feature FAA Licensed Remote Pilots with well equipped UAS packages. Our go to sUAS is a Phantom 4 Pro drone with a load of 6 batteries and 100Mbs 4k recording!

lighting

We have a large variety of lighting resources to handle any kind of challenge. Our standard equipment load includes (2) Litepanels Gemini 2x1s (full RGB soft bank with softbox, barn doors, egg crate), (3) Litepanels Astra 6x BiColor, (2) Aputure C300D with soft box/egg crate, accent tube lights, Litepanels Fresnels, c stands, combo stands, and more.

audio

For audio capture we feature all kinds of scaling capability ranging from simple field dialogue capture to large scale band recordings. For smaller scale field work we use traditional boom pole/sound mixer packages featuring quality equipment. For large scale recording we use a 24ch transformer isolated splitter snake paired with multiple Metric Halo ULN-8 Interfaces. This allows for multi-track recording an entire band or close mic’ing a whole orchestra!

live switch, stream, Monitor

For live switch and streams, we use built up Black Magic ATEM switcher rigs allowing up to 16 input sources. When paired with Black Magic cameras, we have full remote control of camera parameters just like with a triax/CCU system. Flypacks are out fitted with wired and wireless director’s com, cabling, monitoring, and more. We use custom created video encoders to stream content anywhere you may need. We are a NYC based production company and have Boland Broadcast Monitors including a 55” BVB OLED, 31” 4k , and 17” BVB Daybright in addition to fleet of SmallHD 702 Touch and 1303 DayBrights.
